Nashik Caves
The Nashik Caves, also known as Pandavleni Caves, are a group of ancient Buddhist caves located in Nashik, Maharashtra. These caves date back to the 1st century BCE and are a significant example of early Buddhist architecture. The caves are carved into the Trirashmi hill and consist of 24 caves that served as viharas (monasteries) and chaityas (prayer halls) for Buddhist monks.
