Shri Kiratpur Sahib is a holy town in Rupnagar district of Punjab, India, situated on the banks of the Sutlej River. It is one of the most sacred places for Sikhs, being the place where Guru Hargobind, the sixth Sikh Guru, spent the last years of his life. The town is also known for the Gurdwara Patal Puri, where many Sikhs immerse the ashes of their departed.
