Kedarnath Temple
Kedarnath Temple is one of the most sacred Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Shiva, located in the Garhwal Himalayan range near the Mandakini river in Uttarakhand. It is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, the holiest Hindu shrines of Shiva. The temple is not directly accessible by road and has to be reached by a 14 km uphill trek from Gaurikund. The temple, which is surrounded by breathtaking snow-capped peaks, remains closed during the winter months due to extreme weather conditions.
